Carolyn Redmond Groover

Carolyn Redmond Groover passed away on March  2, 2026 at the age of 89. She was the daughter of Genevieve McKay Redmond and Michael J. Redmond.

Carolyn was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to her family and her community. A devoted mother and grandmother, she created a warm and welcoming home where family gatherings were cherished and memories were made. Her faith was central to her life, and she faithfully attended daily Mass. She was actively involved in the Women’s Council, the School PTA, Meals on Wheels, and served as a Scout leader. Carolyn was also honored as a recipient of the Gartland Award.

In her later years, she resided at Summer Breeze, where she looked forward each day to fellowship with friends and her beloved bingo games.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Craig “Bubba” Groover, Sr.; her daughter, Margaret Marie Groover; her sisters, Mary Prentiss and Jane Moore; and her brother, Michael Redmond.

She is survived by her children, Craig Groover, Jr. (Angela), Carol Andrews (George), and Becky Groover; her grandchildren, Keith Groover (Nikki), Kevin Andrews (Megan), Katherine Stettler (James), Andrew Groover (Reagan), Emily Parrish (Chad), Megan Smith (Robert), and Duncan Groover; and her great-grandchildren, Keller Groover, Hayden Groover, Lathem Groover, Waker Groover, Charleigh Parrish, McKay Smith, Genevieve “Evie” Smith, and Stone Groover. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Carolyn’s grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

The family extends a special thank you to “our girls” at Summer Breeze for their loving care and devotion over the past five years.

Carolyn Redmond Groover will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwich Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent’s Academy or Hospice Savannah
